Researchers at Northwestern University have discovered that breathing patterns affect part of the brain that are responsible for smell, emotion and memory. Of course if you have ever taken a yoga class from me you already knew that, It’s why I sound like a broken record and I even received a not so stellar review for repeating “If you’re not breathing, you’re not doing yoga”. Thank you science for the proof.
According to the study the breathing pattern creates electrical activity in the brainyour inhale and your exhale determines a lot of how you will react in a fearful situation or how much you will remember.
