Everything Is Copy a documentary film about the life of writer/director Nora Ephron will screen tonight Tuesday, September 29 at the New York Film Festival at Lincoln Center, the film is directed by her son Jacob Bernstein. I have been excited to see the final cut of this piece because well everybody loves Nora and because I was hired to do hair and makeup for some of the interviews. Mathew Eng over at Tribeca writes:
Ephron’s bountiful but abbreviated life is a master class in how to take pride in one’s talents and pursue them with all the certitude and focus that so many of us lack as we only run around in circles, either too timid or distracted to really write ourselves as the true protagonists of our own lives. In a way, we’ve never needed Nora Ephron more, but as Everything is Copy
The hi light of this gig for me was working on Nora’s sister Amy who is also a novelist, a writer at Vogue Magazine and has her own online magazine called OneForTheTable.com . It was a treat to hear the stories according to Amy, she is whitty and a riot. Some of the other notable people in this doc include Steven Spielberg, Mike Nichols, Lena Dunham, Rosie O’Donnell, Babs or Barbara Walters, and her second husband – Jacobs dad Carl Bernstein.
If you don’t get to see it tonight, you’ll have to wait until March when it will air on HBO. I cannot wait.
Do you have favorite Nora movie, quote or book?
